I am sitting here writing Christmas Cards. This is a very unusual pastime for me but since I seem to have actually received a few this year and I feel beholden to send some back. I am starting to get worried though that there are people I really should have sent a card too that I haven't. This is of some mild concern to me but I have some emergency cards just in case!
Presents as well are causing me endless distress. I've managed to buy four so far. I have an extremely large family so this is by no means good progress. Nevermind. I am off work from Tuesday so I shall have to cram it all in then and hope there is something left on Oxford Street. Judging by the crowds I've seen there the last few weeks I will be suprised if there is anything left!
So CF? Well as I said the Christmas Party was a huge success and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Some to enjoyed themselves so much that they forgot to pay off their tabs and a few bank cards had to be collected the next day!
Since then there has been a flurry of paperwork among the Exec to ensure there is a clearly laid out plan for the next 8 months. This will ensure we are a well oiled, smooth running, greased lightning machine.
But as I say I go on holiday on Tuesday so I think I'm going to have to excuse myself from updating my blog until 2006.
So all that is to be said is have a merry christmas and a happy new year!

CF Christmas Drinks

Last night we had the excellent CF Christmas Drinks Party at the Light Bar in Shoreditch High Street. It was absolutely packed and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
Our illustrious new leade Mr Cameron was good enough to attend as well.
Above you will see my first attempt at posting a picture - The entire CF Exec, CF National Chairman and Mr Cameron.
Truly a Conservative Future!

We have a Winner!
Well I'm a little out of date. Sorry about that chaps. I just have not had a chance to update for a while but shall get back into my weekly routine soon enough I'm sure.
So what's been going on since the 25th November? On the 26th November I attended an association coffee morning, with a prize raffle, in Worcestershire. After that it was a race up to Manchester for the GMCF Christmas Dinner. Yes I had to buy dress, shoes, handbag, shawl and earrings on the way and yes when we got to the Travelodge to stay they had double booked us and had to move us to a Travelodge at a service station just outside Manchester so by the time we got there it was 10:00pm. However I still had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Mr Walker ran a robust series of speeches and thankfully spared some of my dignity by not telling the whole Westlife story (not a story for right now, another time maybe). I was particularly impressed by Miss Douglas, new chairman of GMCF. She seemed poised and pleasant and obviously able to hold her own with the GMCF chaps which must make her a pretty tough proverbial cookie.
The next day I did not manage to get back to Hammersmith and Fulham quite in time for the start of our Action Day but I was most impressed with all the activists who turned up, especially the group from Essex University Conservative Future. The hard work was much appreciated and meant a whole ward was leafleted by the end of the day, not to mention quite a few envelopes stuffed as well.
Last week was all quiet on the CF activity front so I got a chance to really focus on what was going on with the leadership contest as well as watching "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" for the second time. Since we all know what happened with the former I shall leave that for now and if you don't know what happened in the latter I shan't spoil it for you - go an see it, at least for the King Kong trailer which is top!! (The Peter Jackson fan in me is very excited)
So this week so far it's been a tad busy. Tuesday the result was announced and Mr Cameron became leader of the Conservative Party. He has my full support and I look forward to the coming years under his leadership. I have also been very encouraged by the early shadow cabinet positions he's announced. I am especially please to see Mr Hague as shadow Foreign Secretary. I think he will do an excellent job and am jumping up and down at the prospect of seeing him speaking on a regular basis again.
Tuesday night brought with it the Young Britons Foundation Christmas Drinks. This was a very civilised affair at the Adam Street Club with Davis and Cameron supporters joining together in harmony to celebrate the wonderful news that we had a new leader. Absolutely nobody did anything untoward to the I love DC sign whatsoever. It was untouched by the end of the evening. The good thing about the Adam Street club of course is that the drinks are so expensive it is very hard to get extremely drunk. This meant I was feeling in good form on Wednesday.
Oh yes I should at this point mention a minor bet / dare / agreement I have made to not drink beer for a month. I have not drunk any beer since the 27th November and I am not allowed to do so again until 31st December. I'm doing ok so far. I'm also rediscovering various cocktails and wines that I'd forgotten I enjoyed. I shall of course let everyone know if at any point I fail in my resolve to make it to New Years Eve. But god help anyone who stands between me and a pint on that evening!
Yesterday evening I was on the radio but not Five Live for once. I was on Resonance FM 104.4FM Check them out here. It was a pilot for a topical panel discussion show with the vice chairman of Labour Student and Mr Bancroft from Lib Dem Youth and Students. Aside from finding myself a bit thrown when a question was asked to the Labour Student and Mr Bancroft about the use of UK airports for transport of US prisoners and by the time the presenter got to me I was posed a complex question about Iranian Nuclear Arms programs. Luckily though the rest seemed to go ok (well I hope it did!) Twas a fun evening anyway.
So tonight I am going out to see Miss Davies, my bestest bud, who is going away for far too long to Australia and I shall miss her very much. I hope then to be able to get some rest on Friday and Saturday to make sure I'm in fit and fighting form for the next meeting of the NME on Sunday.
Till then...
